4.7 Step 7: Configuring Coders

This step shows how to configure coders (termed Coder Groups). You can configure up to

four different Coder Groups. As Lync Server 2013 supports the G.711 coder while the

network connection to SIP Trunk may restrict you to operate with a lower bandwidth coder

such as G.729, you need to add a Coder Group with the G.711 coders for Lync Server

2013, and Coder Group with the G.729 coder for the SIP Trunk.

Note that the Coder Group ID for this entity was assigned to its corresponding IP Profile in

the previous step (see Section 4.6 on page 49).

 To configure coders:

1. Add a Coder Group for Lync Server 2013.

a. Configure the parameters like this:

b. Click Submit.

2. Add a Coder Group for SIP Trunk:
