Configuration Note 4. Configuring the Device
Version 6.6 35 September 2013
4.7 Step 7: Configuring a SIP TLS Connection
This step shows how to configure the device to use a TLS connection with the Lync 2013
Mediation Server. This step is mandatory to secure a SIP TLS connection.
4.7.1 Configuring the NTP Server Address
This step shows how to configure the NTP server's IP address. It's recommended to
implement an NTP server (Microsoft NTP server or third-party server) to ensure that the
device receives an accurate and current date and time. This is necessary for validating the
certificates of remote parties.
To configure the NTP server address:
1. Open the Application Settings page (Configuration tab > System > Application
Settings).
2. In the 'NTP Server IP Address' field, enter the IP address of the NTP server
(e.g., 10.15.25.1).

3. Click Submit.
4.7.2 Configuring the DNS Server
Configure the IP address of the Domain Name System (DNS) servers. This is required if
the Mediation server is configured with an FQDN, in which case, the DNS is used to
resolve it into an IP address.
The procedure for configuring the DNS is described in Section 4.1 on page 21.
