Microsoft Lync Server 2013 36 Document #: LTRT-40127
Enhanced Gateway with Analog Devices
4.7.3 Configuring a Certificate
This step describes how to exchange a certificate with the Microsoft Certificate Authority
(CA). This certificate is used by the device to authenticate the connection with Lync Server.
In this procedure, we use the SAN (Subject Alternative Names) Certificate that allows you
to specify a list of host names to be protected by a single SSL certificate.
In the example scenario, we use two hosts for our single device:
ACGW.ilync15.local (for the Gateway entity)
ACGW2.ilync15.local (for the SBC entity)
We set a virtual CN that represents these two hosts: ACGW_Cert.ilync15.local
To configure a certificate:
1. Open the Certificates page (Configuration tab > System > Certificates).
Figure 4-13: Certificates Page - Creating CSR
2. In the 'Subject Name' field, enter the media gateway name (e.g.,
ACGW_Cert.ilync15.local). This name must be different to the gateways configured in
the Topology Builder for Lync Server 2013 (see Appendix B.1 on page 81).
3. Click Create CSR; a certificate request is generated.
4. Copy the CSR (from the line ----BEGIN CERTIFICATE to the line END CERTIFICATE
REQUEST----) to a text file (such as Notepad) and save it to a folder on your computer
with the file name certreq.txt.
